About NSBE

The National Society of Black Engineers consists of more than 500 chapters and nearly 16,000 active members in the United States and abroad! NSBE is one of the largest student-governed organization and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Being founded in 1975, NSBE aims to promote and support aspirations of collegiate and children K-12 in STEM related activities, careers, and much more! 

 

NSBE prides themselves on fulfilling the National Mission Statement: "To increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community".

The National Society of Black Engineers operates under six regions across the world. Mercer University's Collegiate Chapter is located in Region III, the Powerhouse. NSBE offers academic excellence programs, scholarships, leadership training, professional development and access to career opportunities for thousands of members annually.
